Switzerland: Charges send UBS into a loss  Comments
November 4, 2009

UBS made a third-quarter net loss of Sf564 million (R4.4 billion), the Swiss banking group said yesterday, blaming accounting charges of Sf2.1bn for keeping it in the red. It recorded a net profit of Sf283m during the same period last year. Discounting one-time charges, UBS said it would have made a third-quarter pretax profit of Sf1.56bn. - Sapa-AP
